Indicações para o Oscar 2008

O Brasil ficou de fora mais uma vez da disputa pelo Oscar de Melhor Filme em Língua Estrangeira -- concorria a uma vaga com "O Ano em que meus pais saíram de férias", de Cao Hamburguer. Uma pena, pois a Academia de Cinema de Hollywood fez uma seleção de peso em todas as categorias deste ano.

"No Country for Old Men", dos Irmãos Cohen, e "There Will Be Blood", de Paul Thomas Anderson, lideraram as indicações concorrendo em oito categorias cada um, incluindo Melhor Filme e Melhor Direção.

Também concorrendo a Melhor Filme está "Michael Clayton", um thriller a la anos 70 estrelado por George Clooney. O filme recebeu mais seis indicações, incluindo Melhor Ator (Clooney), e Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante (Tilda Swinton). "Desejo e Reparação" (Atonement), que venceu o Globo de Ouro, também ficou com sete indicações.

Diferentemente do ano passado, quando grandes produções como "The Departed" e "Dreamgirls" dominaram as indicações, o Oscar deste ano está marcado por filmes com temas mais soturnos e finais pouco convencionais. Prova disso foi que nenhum alcançou as bilheterias registradas na temporada passada.

Causou estranheza o fato de "American Gangster", o blockbuster da Universal Pictures estrelado por Denzel Washington, e "Into the Wild", dirigido por Sean Penn, ambos muito elogiados pela crítica, terem recebido apenas duas indicações.

"Juno" ganhou quatro indicações, incluindo Melhor Filme, Melhor Direção, Melhor Atriz e Melhor Roteiro Original.

A indicação óbvia, e o maior favorito deste ano, é Daniel Day-Lewis, por "There Will Be Blood", como Melhor Ator.


A cerimônia de premiação está marcada para o dia 24 de fevereiro. Se a greve dos roteiristas não causar problemas em Hollywood.
